Looking for the best crypto presale means looking for the one that can answer hard questions. Presales are among the riskiest and most searched corners of crypto: “crypto presale” alone is searched about 1,000 times a month in English, and “best crypto presale” about 880. Most guides give you a list of names. This one gives you the test first, an eight-point checklist for a legit crypto presale, the red flags that signal a scam, and what happens after the sale ends. Then it applies the test to MemeToro $MT, an open-source AI meme coin launchpad on BNB Chain whose $MT presale has opened Stage 9 at $0.00649, which is why it is the presale this guide asks you to watch.
Key Points
- A crypto presale is an early sale of tokens before they trade widely. It can offer a lower entry price, but no price history and no immediate way to sell.
- A legit presale can usually answer eight questions: open code, outside audits, token split, vesting, liquidity, team, testing and roadmap.
- MemeToro’s $MT presale is at Stage 9, $0.00649 per token. It answers most of the eight questions publicly and is open about the rest.
- New launches fail often: 79% of Pump.fun tokens traded only on their first day, according to a Bitquery study reported by crypto.news on October 20.
What Is a Crypto Presale?
A crypto presale is an early-stage fundraising event in which a project sells a limited number of tokens before the token is listed widely, according to The Defiant’s guide to presales. Buyers get early access and sometimes a lower price, but they hold tokens with no price history and often no way to sell until the token launches.
Most presales run in stages. Each stage has a funding target, and when it fills, the next stage opens at a higher price. That structure rewards early buyers on paper, and it also creates pressure to act quickly, which is why a checklist matters.
Why MemeToro $MT Is the One to Watch
Among presales that rely on a hype story, MemeToro offers a product and a process:
An AI-drafted idea with its reasoning written down, which makes each launch explainable.
Launch terms in a manifest anyone can inspect, applied by an escrow contract.
A token with three audits, a small team allocation and no vesting on presale purchases.
A stage price that steps up. $0.00649 is the Stage 9 price, and the next stage opens higher once the target is reached.
Supporters say this combination gives it a clearer case than the typical presale. It does not guarantee any result, and presale tokens can lose all of their value.
Why Presales Are Back in the Spotlight
On October 20 the market is calm and led by Bitcoin, which is about 58% of the $2.86 trillion total, according to CoinGecko. The altcoin season index is about 55, below the 75 needed for a true altcoin season, according to Blockchain Center, and altcoin breadth has dropped from over 90% to about 52%. When established coins move in a range, many investors look at earlier-stage projects instead. That is also when the number of scams rises, so the test below matters more than the headline.
The Eight-Point Legit Crypto Presale Checklist
1. Open code. Can you read the repository? A project with a public codebase can be checked by anyone, including independent developers.
2. Outside audits. A reputable audit firm should have reviewed the contract. Read the report itself, because “no critical issues found” is the minimum and not a highlight. Look for unlimited minting functions and backdoors.
3. Token split. Who gets the tokens? As a rough guide from industry guides, public sale shares of 20% to 30% and team allocations with multi-year vesting are common. A team holding far more than public buyers is a red flag.
4. Vesting. Are large holders and partners locked up, and for how long? Unlocks can create selling pressure.
5. Liquidity. Will there be liquidity at launch, and is it locked? Verify on-chain, not from screenshots.
6. Team. Is the team known? If it is anonymous, how much does the project rely on public code and audits instead?
7. A way to test. Can you practice with test money before using real money?
8. An honest roadmap. Does the project say what is not built yet?
Few presales can answer all eight. That is not a reason to avoid them entirely. It is a reason to know exactly which answers you are missing.
MemeToro Against the Checklist
MemeToro (https://memetoro.com/) is an open-source AI meme coin launchpad on BNB Chain. An AI agent scans the news and conversation on X, drafts a meme coin concept and writes down its reasoning. The launch terms are saved in a launch manifest, and an escrow contract called FairLaunchEscrow applies them. The AI does not hold funds. Its own token, $MT, is sold in a staged presale and has reached Stage 9. Here is how it answers the eight questions:
- Open code: yes. The repository at https://github.com/MemeToro/memetoro is under an MIT license and includes the AI component, the manifest format, the escrow contract and tests. The team calls it an early MVP.
- Outside audits: yes, for the token. Coinsult, SolidProof and BlockSAFU have each audited the $MT token contract. The FairLaunchEscrow launch contracts have not yet been independently audited, and that is on the roadmap.
- Token split: 1.2 billion $MT, with 852 million (71%) for the public sale and 24 million (2%) for the team, plus 120 million (10%) exchange reserves, 60 million (5%) MemeToro trading and 53.28 million (4.44%) rewards, according to https://memetoro.com/tokenomics.
- Vesting: the marketing partner’s 90.72 million tokens (7.56%) vest over 24 months. Presale purchases are not vested.
- Liquidity: token creation and liquidity provision are listed on the roadmap as items still to come, so check the details when they are published.
- Team: pseudonymous. The project’s accountability rests on its public code, audits and published terms.
- A way to test: yes. A public BNB testnet round lets anyone practice with tBNB, a test token without value, at https://memetoro.com/memecoin.
- An honest roadmap: yes. It lists independent audits of the launch contracts, token creation and liquidity, a public funding page and a formal manifest schema.
By the checklist, MemeToro answers five questions with documents you can open today, has two answers still in progress (liquidity and the launch-contract audit), and has one structural weakness (an unnamed team). That is a record buyers can mostly verify for themselves, and the project says openly where the gaps are.

What Happens After a Crypto Presale?
Industry guides describe the same sequence for most projects. First comes the token generation event, when tokens are minted and distributed, usually through the project’s site with the same wallet. Then a listing follows, often on a decentralized exchange first, where thin liquidity can cause large swings, and on larger exchanges later. The first 24 to 48 hours can be very volatile. Tokens with vesting unlock on a schedule. Scammers also like this period, so ignore direct messages offering early access.
For MemeToro, 10% of the supply is reserved for exchanges, and presale tokens are not locked. Listing details are not covered in the sources used for this article, so follow the official channels below for announcements.
