State Minister for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik has accused Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi of supporting terrorists. Malik claimed that evidence existed to support the allegations and said authorities would present relevant records before a court.
Speaking about the matter, Malik said the Constitution did not specify a fixed time frame for lifting an emergency. He added that the law should take its course in Afridi’s case. The minister did not detail the alleged evidence but said officials would submit the relevant record to the court.

Malik also claimed that Afridi was in protective custody. However, he said he did not believe authorities were holding the KP chief minister at a royal guest house. He suggested Afridi could be staying at another guest house, without providing further details about his location.
Separately, Malik clarified that formal work on the proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment had not yet begun. His remarks indicated that the proposed legislation had not entered the formal drafting or legislative process.
