Cleveland Browns pass rusher Jared Verse has a great deal of respect for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
When speaking to reporters on Friday, Verse didn't hold back on his praise for the two-time NFL MVP.
"He's the standard of what running quarterbacks are nowadays. How fast they are, how athletic they are, how agile they are. With him, you have to rush a little differently," Verse said. "Your mindset is to keep him in the pocket, but you don't want to rush scared either. He can sit back there and dot you up all day. He's a very dangerous quarterback."
This isn't the first time Verse has heaped praise on Jackson. Last year, he was asked about Jackson missing the Ravens' Week 6 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
"I'm [expletive] furious about it," Verse said. "I wanted to play Lamar just because he's one of the best quarterbacks currently and you put him in that conversation of not just running quarterbacks, but [best] quarterbacks ever."

Verse will likely be disappointed yet again this year. Jackson missed practice on Friday with his ankle issue, marking his third straight missed practice leading up to Sunday's Ravens-Browns matchup.
Sunday's game will kick off at 1 p.m. ET.
