The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted isolated thunderstorms and cloudy conditions across most parts of the country.
In its weather outlook released for Friday, NiMet said the northern region will experience partly cloudy to sunny skies in the morning with isolated thunderstorms over the Mambilla Plateau.
It said thunderstorms are expected later in the afternoon and evening in parts of Katsina, Zamfara, Bauchi, Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, and Kaduna states.
For the North-central region, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the agency forecast cloudy skies in the morning hours, with isolated thunderstorms anticipated in the afternoon and evening over Plateau, Niger, Kwara, Kogi and the FCT.
NiMet also predicted cloudy conditions over both inland and coastal cities in the morning, while isolated thunderstorms are likely to affect inland states such as Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Oyo, Ondo, and Imo, as well as coastal states, including Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Cross River, and Lagos.
The agency, therefore, advised residents in areas expected to experience thunderstorms to take necessary precautions, noting that strong winds may accompany the rains.
It further urged airline operators to obtain updated weather reports for effective planning, while residents were advised to stay informed through its regular weather updates.
