He’s a real life Superman.
A heroic South African dad fatally shot an armed carjacker while trying to protect his daughter after the gang ambushed the pair outside their home, dramatic video shows.
Sidney Hill calmly whipped out his gun and fired at the alleged carjackers, who started shooting at the family just as he was pulling out of his Pinetown home on Oct. 9, Afrikaans outlet Maroela Media reported on Thursday.
Hill and his daughter, who was sitting in the passenger seat, scanned the road as they edged out of the driveway in their Toyota Hilux and were set to pull out when a white Renault with five people inside stopped in front of his vehicle.

Two armed men then rushed out of the vehicle and began shooting at the Hills.
Hill, an operations manager in Durban, pulled the gun out from his side and then returned fire from the driver’s seat of his pickup truck without flinching.
He leaned back to seemingly protect his daughter, whose age hasn’t been disclosed, as he unleashed a volley of shots into the brazen crew.
The dad was waiting for his son to close the gate of their home, which they had just moved into four days before the ambush, according to local reports.
The windshield of Hill’s car cracked amid the barrage of gunshots and his car went forward and hit a tree.

Hill fatally shot one of the gang members, Pinetown Police spokesperson Paul Magwaza told the Highway Mail, while Marshall Security official Andreas Mathios, who is known as the “Durban superman” in the local area, hailed the dad for his quick-thinking response.
“This man is a hero,” Mathios said.
“He firstly and instinctively made sure that his family was safe. He was consistently alert, and even though there was some sort of delay in returning fire when he was fired upon at the right time, he managed to return fire and neutralize the threat. I commend him for his actions.”
Footage of the dad’s sharpshooting skills have gone viral – with social media viewers urging South African law enforcement official Nhlanhla “Lucky” Sibusiso Mkhwanazi, the provincial police commissioner of the KwaZulu Natal province, to recruit him to his team.
“You are the example of what a real dad does,” one viewer said.
“They picked a wrong guy,” another said, blasting the bungling carjackers.
“Those children must be severely traumatized,” a third commenter said. “It’s so bloody unnecessary that one has to go through this.”
Other viewers pointed out that Hill didn’t flinch during the ordeal.
The four other men fled the scene and two investigations have since been launched — one for attempted murder and the other for attempted carjacking.
It’s unclear if Hill will be charged for retaliating.
