San Francisco authorities on Wednesday announced charges against two men suspected of shooting 49ers defensive lineman Keion White at a nightclub in the city in February.
During a press conference, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said Mountain House (San Joaquin County) resident Gregory Walker, 36, and Irvine (Orange County) resident Curtis Green 35, were expected to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon on charges connected to the shooting on February 9, during Super Bowl weekend.
Walker was charged with assault with a semi-automatic firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm, with allegations that he personally discharged the weapon and inflicted great bodily injury, Jenkins said. Green has been charged with brandishing a weapon and two other misdemeanor charges, Jenkins said.
Prosecutors have filed a motion to detail Walker, saying they believe he poses a public safety risk.
White was shot in the ankle while hosting a private party in the downstairs VIP area of the Dahlia Club, a bar at 14th and Mission streets. Authorities said the shooting unfolded after the lineman got into an argument with rapper Lil Baby, though police on Wednesday declined to state whether or not the musician was suspected to be involved.
Police said the multiple suspects confronted White, who underwent surgery after the incident, but did not provide details on any further motive.
The arrests followed a months-long investigation by law enforcement called "D-Line," which spanned multiple states and involved at least 50 search warrants, police said. Police said more than 250 law enforcement personnel "nationwide" assisted with the investigation.
"We will not tolerate any type of violence in our city, but certainly not gun violence," said Jenkins. "We had a great and amazing Super Bowl weekend that ended with this incident, and I am just so thankful to the San Francisco police that we are being able to hold those accountable who sadly chose violence on that night."
Last week, on Oct. 7, Atlanta police officers arrested another suspect, 38-year-old Marquis Davis in connection to the shooting. During their arrest, they seized an illegal firearm, 820 grams of MDMA, 1,026 grams of methamphetamine, 979 grams of cocaine and 3,842 grams of fentanyl, police said.
Later that morning, San Francisco police officers and deputies with the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office arrested 36-year-old Antoine Washington in Stockton and recovered more than 120 oxycodone pills, $6,691 in currency and a loaded firearm, police said. Authorities are arranging for Davis and Washington to be brought to San Francisco.
Green, of Irvine, was arrested by San Francisco and Irvine police officers on Oct. 7. Two days later, Los Angeles police officers arrested Walker in Southern California. Both men were booked into San Francisco County Jail on Monday.
According to a police report, authorities who arrived on the scene after the shooting observed "scantily clad females picking up dollar bills that were strawn all over the floor," as patrons walked away from the scene.
White was sitting in a chair with a "makeshift" bandage on his left foot and at first was uncooperative with police, telling them to talk to his friend, according to the report. The friend, who was not named, told police White was shot after the rapper Lil Baby "and his entourage" got into an argument with White as they tried to enter the downstairs room.
Police located a 9mm and .45 caliber cartridge at the scene.
White, a native of Raleigh, N.C., was drafted by the New England Patriots in the second round in 2023 out of Georgia Tech. After the 49ers traded for him last October, he played 57% of the team's defensive snaps in 2025. After White had 7.5 sacks in his first 47 career games, he's taken a leap this season, with three sacks in the first five games. He is signed through 2026.
