AgiBot says its Lingxi X2 humanoid has become a regular at the outpatient guidance desk of Peking University People's Hospital in Beijing, in a project built with Ant Group's AI health app Afu.
At the desk, the Lingxi X2 runs the AI medical assistant from the Afu app, powered by Ant Group's medical large model. It answers routine questions with a human-like voice and gestures, taking on the high-frequency, repetitive inquiries that usually pile up on human guidance staff in a busy hospital lobby.
According to the companies, as of September 30 the robot had worked 66 working days at the outpatient navigation desk and completed 46,686 interactions. That works out to roughly 707 interactions a day, with a single-day peak of 1,420.
Its services include directing patients to the right department, explaining visit procedures, answering medical insurance policy questions and giving in-hospital directions. The system is also connected to the hospital's private knowledge base, so it can give standardized answers based on the hospital's own information rather than generic responses.
The role is guidance, not care. The robot supports front-desk staff with basic inquiries; it does not diagnose or treat patients. The companies describe the deployment as a joint exploration of smart medical services and say they will use it to build interaction and operations experience in hospital settings. Their goal is a model that can be replicated and rolled out at scale.
The Lingxi X2 is AgiBot's half-size humanoid, positioned for interaction-heavy settings where a compact, approachable form matters more than heavy manipulation. A hospital lobby fits that profile: high foot traffic, repetitive questions, and visitors who need quick, consistent answers.
The hospital deployment adds to AgiBot's push into public-facing service roles, following recent campus and theme park programs. For the Afu side, it moves Ant Group's medical assistant from a phone screen to a physical presence at the point where patients first arrive.
The published figures are operational disclosures from the companies covering the period through the end of September.
