The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has inaugurated a waste segregation shed and two open gyms in Ward 18 at a combined cost of around Rs 24 lakh, aiming to improve waste management and provide local public with facilities for physical exercise.
Ward corporator Abhishek Dutta inaugurated the projects, which are intended to strengthen civic infrastructure and promote health awareness among local residents.
The waste segregation shed is expected to facilitate the separation and management of waste generated in the ward, supporting efforts to improve sanitation and maintain a cleaner environment.
The two open gyms have been set up to provide residents with accessible facilities for physical exercise. One of the gyms has been opened near Pragati School.
Speaking to reporters after the inauguration, Dutta highlighted the importance of improving civic amenities and developing infrastructure to meet the everyday needs of residents.
The open gyms are intended to encourage people, particularly young residents, to incorporate regular exercise into their daily routines. The facilities are also expected to provide people of different age groups with opportunities to exercise within their neighbourhoods.
