Maxtang has introduced a new compact fanless mini PC equipped with Intel's Twin Lake CPUs and a healthy array of ports.
Dubbed the NXALN51, the new mini PC that features support for Intel's N100 and N150 CPUs with four-core, four-thread configurations. The N150 supports a peak clock speed of 3.6 GHz, whereas the N100 maxes out at 3.4 GHz.
Both CPUs boast a 6 W TDP as well as a peak memory capacity of 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. Storage, on the other hand, is handled by an M.2 2280 slot as well as a SATA 3 slot.
In terms of raw performance, the CPUs should be good enough for modest workloads that aren't too intensive. For reference, modern APUs found in mid-range mini PCs, such as the AMD Ryzen AI 5 430, are over 120% faster.
The lack of high-end CPUs can be understood, given the fanless nature of the system which allows for completely silent operation with almost no moving parts.
The IO offer has been detailed below:
- Dual USB 2.0
- Dual USB 3.2
- SIM slot, RS232 COM port
- 4x 2.5G Ethernet ports
- Dual HDMI 2.0
Like the storage, the memory is also easily upgradable courtesy of a single DDR4 SODIMM slot. The compact mini PC measures in at just 12.7 by 12.7 by 4.35 cm, or roughly 5 x 5 x 1.71 inches.
Pricing and availability
Pricing and availability details are unclear as of this writing. Maxtang's products are available in the USA as well as a few other international markets, and the same might apply to the NXALN51 mini PC as well.
Given the specs on offer, one might expect an affordable price tag for the mini PC. However, the system's fanless nature and network connectivity capabilities might justify a premium.
Typical consumers who prefer a fanless design, but do not require such extensive networking might check out something like the MelE X1, currently available for $550 on Amazon.
