Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic on Tuesday toured the construction site of new accommodation facilities for members of the Serbian Armed Forces (SAF) at the Pasuljanske Livade training area, which are being built 27 years after the original facilities were destroyed in the 1999 NATO aggression, the Defense Ministry said.

Gasic said that investing in military infrastructure and training facilities is an important component of care for members of the SAF.
“After 27 years, the Pasuljanske Livade training area will get modern accommodation containers, which is a major step forward in improving living and working conditions for service personnel. Until now, they have been housed in tents. By constructing these modern accommodation facilities, we are proving that, in addition to continuously improving training and strengthening operational capabilities, we place particular focus on our service members who carry out highly complex tasks under all weather and terrain conditions. Our goal is to ensure that all members of the Serbian Armed Forces who use this training area, including conscripts and cadets, have adequate space for living, relaxation and preparation for training, equal or better than that available to service personnel in the most developed countries,” the Ministry quoted Gasic as saying.
The new facilities are designed to accommodate members of the Ministry of Defense and the SAF during exercises and field trainings at the Pasuljanske Livade military complex.
As part of the project, two container blocks will be built – an accommodation block and a kitchen and dining block. The accommodation block is a two-storey facility comprising dormitories, a corridor, bathrooms, and other ancillary spaces, while the kitchen and dining block is designed as a single-story facility, the Defense Ministry said.
