The Rasipuram police arrested three persons, including a retired Municipality staff, in Namakkal on Wednesday (October 15, 2026) for creating fake documents with the signature of the Municipality Commissioner.
According to the police, Gunasekaran (50) of Rasipuram, who owns a bakery shop, is constructing a commercial building at Bharathidasan Road within the Rasipuram Municipality limits. To obtain power connection for his building, he submitted documents allegedly signed by the Rasipuram Municipality Commissioner to the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL). However, a few days ago, claiming that the documents submitted were fake, Pathu Rubai Iyakkam lodged a complaint with the Rasipuram police.
The police sent the documents to the Rasipuram Municipality to verify its authenticity. Officials confirmed that it was fake and informed the police. The police registered a case against Gunasekaran, retired Municipality staff Kumarasamy (62), a resident of Valluvar Nagar, who allegedly created the fake documents and Ravi (36), a resident of Rasipuram who acted as a mediator. The police arrested the trio and remanded them in prison on Wednesday evening.
