What does the future of consumer technology look like when the entire industry gathers under one roof? In this edition of Tech Today, Cyrus takes you inside the India Mobile Congress (IMC) in New Delhi, looking beyond telecom headlines to uncover the real gadgets and innovations consumers will actually care about. We also put ASUS’s flagship ultraportable gaming laptop, the ROG Zephyrus G14 (2026), through an intense set of benchmarks, and tested Sennheiser’s latest audiophile-grade Momentum 5 Wireless headphones. Big Tech Story: At the India Mobile Congress, cutting-edge consumer tech took center stage as brands showcased next-generation mobile hardware, on-device AI innovations, and interconnected ecosystems shaping everyday digital life. We cut through the corporate jargon to bring you the standout products, experimental form factors, and smart technologies that matter most to users on the ground. Tech Review: In our tech review, we evaluate the 2026 ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14, retailing at approximately ₹3,59,990. Engineered inside a CNC-machined aluminum chassis weighing just 1.5 kg, this compact powerhouse packs Intel’s flagship Core Ultra 9 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, and a stunning 3K OLED HDR panel running at 120Hz with a 0.2ms response time. Benchmarks in the Tech Today lab saw the machine notch over 1.51 million points on AnTuTu and cross 15,300 in Geekbench 7 multi-core tests, handling Cyberpunk 2077 and Valorant with ease while plugged into its 250W charger. While plugged-in gaming and day-to-day office battery endurance are exceptional, we discuss the realities of high-drain mobile gaming on battery power and the trade-offs of a compact 14-inch display for competitive esports. Finally, we test the Sennheiser Momentum 5 Wireless headphones, priced at ₹39,990. Featuring custom 42mm dynamic drivers, hybrid adaptive active noise cancellation with eight microphones, Dolby Atmos spatial audio, and aptX Lossless support, these cans deliver outstanding sound separation and deep bass. Most impressively, Sennheiser tackles electronic waste and longevity by allowing users to easily replace the internal battery themselves using a simple screwdriver. Delivering around 43 hours of real-world listening with ANC enabled, we weigh how they stack up against rivals like Sony and Bose. Which tech showcase caught your eye at India Mobile Congress this year? Would you pick the ultraportable ASUS Zephyrus G14 over a bulkier desktop replacement, and is a user-replaceable battery a must-have feature on ₹40,000 headphones?
