Several of late Milwaukee Brewers commentator Bob Uecker's sports jackets will be worn by Milwaukee Brewers broadcasters for the World Series opener tonight.
Brewers radio broadcaster Jeff Levering showed up on the MLB Network pre-game show with one of the jackets on before announcing the roster of jackets present among his coworkers at the stadium.
"This is a Bob Uecker original," Levering told the desk Oct. 23, showing off the colorful patchwork jacket. "He wore this on the Tonight Show a number of times."
Three other jackets will be worn among the broadcaster staff tonight: one from a commercial also featuring Whitey Ford, one from a Miller Lite ad and another patchwork jacket similar to Levering's.
Levering recently made waves for his "Oh my God, the Brewers win the pennant!" callout at the Brewers' National League Championship Series win that fans clocked as similar to a call Uecker made in the movie "Major League."
Uecker, also known as "Mr. Baseball," died in January 2025 just before his 91st birthday. He was a commentator for the Milwaukee Brewers for 54 seasons from 1971 through 2024.
The plaid, patchwork and otherwise unique sports coats have become common identifiers for Uecker.
The Brewers' 2025 jerseys featured a plaid patch with Uecker's name on the sleeve. The Milwaukee Admirals hockey team have played in plaid jerseys in honor of Uecker for a charity stunt.
The 2018 Milwaukee Brewers team once surprised Uecker by all sporting plaid lookalike coats before flying out to a game in Pittsburgh.
