NU faculties deliver talk on environmental humanities

Kohima, October 23 (MExN): Dr Subhashis Banerjee and Prof Nigamananda Das of the Department of English, Nagaland University Kohima Campus, delivered an invited talk on Environmental Humanities at the 12th International Conference on Language, Literature and Culture, being in Isparta, Turkey, from October 21 to 24.The conference was organised in collaboration with Bournemouth University, England, and brought together scholars to discuss current developments in language, literature and cultural studies.In his presentation, Dr Banerjee explored “the ecological turn of human subjectivity” in the poetry of Jibanananda Das. He examined how the poet’s engagement with plants, landscapes and other forms of nonhuman life reshapes the understanding of human identity and its relationship with the natural world.
