The match marked Mourinho’s return to the Stadio Olimpico over two years after his sudden sacking in January 2024.
Giallorossi supporters paid tribute to the Special One with chants and banners before kick-off, and Mourinho has now replied with an Instagram post.
“When the best moments of a long career are neither goals nor victories, but rather emotions for which I can only humbly express my gratitude,” Mourinho wrote.
