Katie Price has arrived at Lewes Crown Court to give evidence in the case against her ex-husband, Kieran Hayler. He faces charges of raping and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. Hayler denies all allegations against him.
The alleged offences took place in West Sussex between June and October 2016, while Hayler was still married to Price. The girl is not related to either Price or Hayler. During the trial, jurors heard that Hayler believes the allegations were fabricated as part of a campaign against him.

Prosecutor Ryan Richter urged jurors to focus on the evidence rather than the former couple’s past relationship. The court has also examined messages Price exchanged with the girl in May 2017, around eight months after the last alleged attack. These messages have become part of the evidence presented during the proceedings.
In one message, Price asked the girl what had happened and promised to protect her. She reportedly wrote, “I will make you a little star.” However, the girl told the court that she did not want to have the conversation with Price. She also feared their messages might be shared with Hayler.

The woman, now 23, first reported the allegations to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) in 2021. The charity subsequently contacted police, who interviewed Hayler in 2022. He denied the allegations during that interview, and the trial is continuing.
