KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently experiencing post-monsoon weather conditions, with westerly winds and local weather systems continuing to influence weather patterns across the country.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the hilly and mountainous regions are expected to experience partly cloudy skies, while most parts of the Tarai are likely to remain predominantly clear.
The Division has forecast the possibility of isolated light rainfall and snowfall in some hilly and mountainous areas. Weather conditions may vary by location, particularly in higher-altitude regions where local atmospheric changes can bring cloud cover and precipitation.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology confirmed that the monsoon system completely withdrew from Nepal on October 14, marking the transition to the post-monsoon season. However, the departure of the monsoon does not mean an end to all rainfall, as local weather systems and westerly winds can continue to influence conditions across the country.
Post-monsoon weather generally brings clearer skies and less widespread rainfall, although localized precipitation and snowfall remain possible, particularly in the hills and mountains.
Residents and travellers, especially those planning journeys to mountainous destinations, are advised to monitor the latest weather bulletins for updates on changing conditions that could affect travel and outdoor activities.
