The Kentucky Wildcats are rolling in Will Stein’s first season as they sit at 5-1 with a date in Norman and the Oklahoma Sooners on deck.
There are plenty of reasons why the Cats are rolling, but one of the biggest factors is the play of the offensive line. Similar to when Mark Stoops had this program winning, it all started with winning in the trenches.
That is exactly what Stein and his staff made sure was a priority entering year one in Lexington, and it’s paid off. They invested heavily in the O-Line, so much so that the starting five averages in weight and height more than 3/4 of NFL teams’ starting O-linemen.
They are taller than 25 teams on average and heavier than 26 teams on average.
The Big Blue Wall is taller on average than 25 NFL offensive lines and heavier than 26.

The Big Blue Wall became a staple under John Schlarman and helped propel the UK program to levels it had not seen before. Now it has returned under Cutter Leftwich, but to a whole new level.
They will have to rebuild some this coming offseason with players off to the draft and out of eligibility, but at this moment it looks like the Cats have once again prioritized making sure they have one of the best offensive lines in the sport.
