Xtract One Technologies Selected by Willis Independent School District to Enhance Campus Security Across District

A combination of SmartGateway and Xtract One Gateway Systems to Protect High School, Middle School Campuses, and District Events

TORONTO, Oct. 19, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Xtract One Technologies
(TSX: XTRA)(OTCQX: XTRAF)(FRA: 0PL) (“Xtract One” or the “Company”) today announced that Willis Independent School District in Willis, Texas has approved a contract for approximately USD $1 million for the deployment of 15 Xtract One systems across its campuses and district facilities. The Willis ISD Board of Trustees voted 5-0 to approve the purchase, which includes 11 Xtract One Gateways and 4 SmartGateways, with installation scheduled to complete within the next few months.

In addition to the district implementing additional security as part of a longer-term strategy, Willis ISD cited Manor ISD‘s experience with Xtract One as a key factor in the decision, with Manor ISD reporting the successful deployment and achievement of the intended objectives of the program. “Our board came together quickly and decisively to do what’s right for our students and our community,” said Dr. Kimberly James, Superintendent of Willis ISD. “We are committed to adding layers of protection that allow our students to focus on learning in an environment where they feel safe.”

“Willis ISD made a thoughtful and thorough decision under an accelerated schedule,” said Peter Evans, CEO of Xtract One Technologies. “Selecting systems that distinguish between everyday student items and genuine threats, that can move between campuses and events, and that allow students to walk through at a normal pace with their backpacks, without unnecessary systems like X-ray machines, reflects exactly the kind of program a district should build. We’re proud to support Willis ISD and its community.”

Xtract One Gateway is designed for school environments where students carry laptops, tablets, water bottles, binders, and personal electronics as part of their daily routine. The system identifies and classifies specific threat objects while accurately distinguishing them from everyday items, without requiring students to stop, remove items, or submit to bag searches. Security staff receive specific alerts identifying what triggered and exactly where on the individual’s body, enabling secondary screening that is fast, targeted, and minimally disruptive to the school day.

SmartGateway, deployed for larger gatherings including sporting events, is designed for high-throughput environments where individuals carry low volumes of personal belongings. Both systems connect to Xtract One View, the centralized cloud management platform that gives district security leadership real-time visibility into system performance across all locations.

The portability of both systems was a key consideration in the district’s selection. Units can be repositioned between locations and deployed for events without permanent installation, giving Willis ISD operational flexibility across its campuses and facilities throughout the school year.

Willis ISD joins a growing number of Texas school districts deploying Xtract One’s AI-powered weapons detection technology under the state’s HB 2 school safety funding framework. Manor ISD, whose deployment was referenced directly in the Willis ISD board presentation, has expanded Xtract One Gateway across approximately half of its 15 campuses following initial deployment at its high school campuses.
