ALLEN PARK — Aside from players currently on injured lists (like safety Kerby Joseph, who head coach Dan Campbell expects to return at some point this season), the Detroit Lions had perfect attendance at practice Tuesday, Oct. 20, as they prepare to play the Green Bay Packers.
That includes cornerback Rock Ya-Sin (hamstring), who left early from the team's Week 4 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 4. Campbell said Oct. 5, "I don't think Rock looks good right now," and Ya-Sin was inactive for Detroit's last game, a 45-21 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 11.
Ya-Sin began the season as one of Detroit's starters on the outside but has since relented that job to Roger McCreary, who played 212 defensive snaps from Weeks 3-5. McCreary was targeted 18 times against the Cardinals and produced a career-best six pass deflections.
Also on the practice field was rookie defensive tackle Aidan Keanaaina. The Lions initially signed Keanaaina as an undrafted free agent out of Cal earlier this year. He got hurt in training camp and was released with an injury settlement. The team brought him back Tuesday as an addition to their practice squad and released Chris Smith in a corresponding move.
