Shamim, 40, a father of two from Boro Shanta village, died last Tuesday (13 October) after a crowd assaulted him despite police rescuing him from the first attack and taking him to Debhata Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
His family said the allegations stemmed from an audio recording of incoherent remarks Shamim made during a domestic dispute.
Following his demise, Shamim's elder brother, Jalil Sana, filed a murder case on Thursday night, naming Amini as the prime accused along with nine others and listing another 200-250 unidentified people as suspects.
