The reigning European distance-running champion has fond memories of previous galas. Last year, he ran 5,000 metres and set a European record.
"One of the coolest experiences of my career, and now I aim to surpass it over twice the distance," the running star says in a press release.
Almgren is currently preparing for his marathon debut in New York on November 1.
Next year's gala at the Stadium will take place on Sweden's National Day, June 6.
