Prosecutors have dropped a case alleging a woman assaulted an off-duty police sergeant who removed four unattended children from an unlocked car.
Maysoon Ibrahim Jubran, 50, had been accused of leaving the children - at the time aged between seven and 11 - in a vehicle at a shopping centre in Bass Hill in southwest Sydney on December 9.
Police alleged a female off-duty officer removed emotionally distressed youngsters from the unlocked car, before the 50-year-old approached her.
Ms Jubran was accused of becoming aggressive and assaulting the sergeant before returning the children to the car and driving off.
She had been charged with common assault, along with resisting or hindering attending police officers executing their duty and failing to disclose the identity of the passengers in the motor vehicle.
But prosecutors withdrew the entire case when it was mentioned in Bankstown Local Court.
The Condell Park woman had previously attended court with supporters and indicated a willingness to resolve the matter
