It's definitely (finally!) Autumn but that doesn't have to mean shapeless clothing and bulky cover-ups. Jamie Lee Curtis has been demonstrating just what to wear for the season, using a clever three-point trick to give the illusion of having endless legs - without needing to bare them at all. It's a simple technique anyone can do - whatever your height - and it doesn't need to cost a penny, as you should be able to make it work with just about anything in your wardrobe.
On Saturday (17 October), Jamie stepped out for two different events, the first of which was a charity gala in Los Angeles. For the occasion, Jamie was pictured in an all-black look which gave a distinct leg-lengthening impression.

Jamie posed with one leg crossed in front of the other, pointing her toe forward. This created a visual line from her left shoulder all the way to the tip of her toe. Choosing a sharper, pointed toe accentuated this effect, while the choice of monochrome black helped with the continuity, leaving just a small window of bare skin visible.
While you may imagine that you'd need to wear tight or even body-con clothing for an effect such as this, Jamie demonstrated how a simply a slim-fit trouser can still do the job of creating a narrow impression. On top, she was able to wear a looser-fitting tunic with long sleeves, which was effortlessly flattering.
Other stars have used a similar techniques before, such as Hannah Waddingham for the Ted Lasso series four premiere in July this year.

In this case, Hannah went for a summer take with bare legs, choosing a nude-toned dress with gold detailing, which she paired with a high heel in a similar tone to her skin. The fully monochrome look - complete with her blonde hair and bronzed skin - and created a strong leg-lengthening illusion, as there was an almost uninterrupted line from her head to her toe.

As well as attending the Children's Hospital Los Angeles Gala 2026, Jamie also arrived at the 6th Annual Academy Museum Gala held at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, on the same day. This time, she wore a stunning floor-length gown with gathered detailing and long sleeves, forgoing her stylish glasses for the more formal occasion.
