Two young Toronto men have been charged with assault and firearm offences after an early Tuesday morning shooting in the city’s downtown core left another man seriously injured.
Toronto Police said officers responded to a shooting call on Tuesday at about 1 a.m. near Bleecker St. and Wellesley St. E. on the edge of Cabbagetown, where the suspects had visited the victim’s residence.

Victim’s injuries non-life-threatening
Police said the suspects knocked on the victim’s door, produced a firearm and discharged it with the victim being struck in the abdomen.
They fled from the scene, but were arrested after being pursued by officers with two loaded firearms being recovered at the scene.
The victim, who CP24 reported was a man in his 50s, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
