Apple just released the new 2026 M6 Mac mini last month, but Amazon already has it on sale for up to $150 off. That’s a killer deal this close to the release of Apple’s latest tiny desktop computer.
The MSRP for the 256GB model is $899, but Amazon has it for $779.99. If you want more storage, you can get the 512GB model for $949.99. It’s unclear when the discount will vanish, so grab it if you want it.
Mac minis are great because they’re way cheaper than most other Macs. For a desktop comparison, the iMac starts at $1,499 (almost double this Mac mini deal), and the Mac Studio starts at $2,499. On the laptop side, MacBook Air starts at $1,299 and the MacBook Pro at $1,999. The only Mac that’s cheaper is the (excellent) MacBook Neo, but it’s significantly less powerful, as it runs on the A18 Pro chip, which was made for iPhones.
The size is also a selling point. The mini hardly takes up any desk space at all. It’s ultra-portable, so you can move it between workstations with ease; just toss it into your bag. And if you already have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, there’s no need to buy any accessories for it.
But you don’t have to use the Mac mini as a traditional desktop computer. Some people plug it into their TV to use it as a streaming device for the regular streaming services, or for a Plex-style personal server setup.
If you subscribe to Apple Arcade, you can also play a ton of games on it, like Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition, Balatro, PowerWash Simulator, Bloons TD 6+, and many more. Or, you can obviously play any Mac-compatible games. While the offerings pale in comparison to Windows, Mac can run some gems, like Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and World of Warcraft (whose Forever mode is currently in beta and launching officially next month).
