Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, on Thursday, inaugurated the State’s Presidential Campaign Council for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, where leaders of the Accord, All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structures pledged support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Speaking at the inauguration, Governor Adeleke described the alliance as a formidable force capable of delivering an overwhelming victory in the state.
He said the coalition brought together influential political figures and grassroots structures across the State, adding that the common objective was to secure Tinubu’s re-election despite differences among the parties.
He said, “In this hall is a gathering of who is who in Osun political terrain. We have all the strikers, the defenders and the midfielders. This rainbow coalition of Accord, APC and PDP structures is superbly potent to deliver Osun overwhelmingly to Mr President come next year January.

“Our coalition is solely about Mr President, a man who means so much to Osun state and Nigeria. Our alliance is about the presidential election on which we have all agreed to support the re-election of President Tinubu.
“As coalition partners on the presidential election, we must remind ourselves that the partnership does not extend to the legislative elections. While we will join hands to deliver Mr President on his party platform, coalition partners are free to work for their party candidates during the senatorial, House of Reps and House of Assembly elections. What ties us together is the presidential, not the legislative elections.”
Governor Adeleke disclosed that discussions between his administration and the Federal Government on resolving the State’s lingering local government crisis have reached an advanced stage, expressing optimism that a breakthrough could come soon.
Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of APC, also urged political stakeholders in Osun to support Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
Basiru said, “for us in Osun State, we must understand that, irrespective of our feelings, ambitions or political interests, we must abide by the mission of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and support Governor Ademola Adeleke to ensure the success of the campaign. I also want to emphasise that it is very important for us to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in securing a second term in office.”
He noted that President Tinubu’s economic reforms had changed the financial circumstances confronting state governments, unlike in the past where they struggled to access resources for development, sometimes resorting to loans and overdrafts to finance projects.
Bisi Akande, former Governor of Osun State and National leader of APC, commended Governor Adeleke for bringing political leaders together, describing him as a pathfinder whose initiative had created an opportunity for stakeholders to pursue a common political objective.
Akande said he had initially considered whether to attend the event because of his age but decided to participate because of the importance of the occasion.
“Today, we have one of our sons in Yoruba land as the president of Nigeria and is entitled to have a two term in office and we’re all praying that he should have his second term in office,” he said
Similarly, Iyiola Omisore, former Deputy Governor and ex-APC National Secretary, called on politicians and supporters across party lines.
“We need everybody irrespective of the political affiliation including ADC, Accord and others to vote for President Bola Tinubu. We are not talking about governorship, NASS and state assembly elections but for the re-election of our leader,” Omisore said.
He commended Adeleke for his role in mobilising political stakeholders for the campaign, urging participants to work towards securing support for Tinubu across the state.
