A total of 150 police officers were injured, according to Sebastien Lecornu. At the same time, protesters reported brutality and excessive force by police trying to suppress the protests.
According to one of the organizers, the CGT union, at least 800,000 people took part in the demonstrations. However, the union's figures usually differ significantly from the French police's estimates. The Interior Ministry said 550,000 people took part.
