Hikrobot held its 2026 mobile robot launch on October 23, ahead of the CeMAT logistics show. The company introduced upgrades to its tote-based storage and picking solutions and a new series of single-unit smart robots. Together they cover in-plant logistics from storage and picking to transport and delivery. Hikrobot also said it has now produced more than 200,000 robots.
The main launch was a new robot series built around what Hikrobot calls single-unit intelligence. Each robot carries its own perception, decision-making and actuation, so it needs no server and no changes to the site. According to the company, a robot can go from unboxing to production in as little as 30 minutes. The first two models are the Z1-300, which moves loads from underneath, and the Z2-1500 forklift-style robot, rated for 300kg and 1,500kg respectively.
The robots handle both delivery and transport. They support manual loading for flexible replenishment, automatic pick-up and drop-off, and area transport where AI detects whether a location is empty or full and decides where to place goods. One map scan can be shared by several robots. Workers can program the Z2 by walking a route with it once. The robots avoid moving, static and overhanging obstacles. Several units coordinate without a central dispatcher so they can pass each other in narrow aisles, and the underride model can fit through aisles as narrow as 60cm.
On the storage side, Hikrobot changed how its STU tote robots and T50 underride robots share work. The STU now handles every task inside an aisle, and the T50 only hands off totes at buffer positions at the aisle entrance. Task routes are more than 50 percent shorter. With 30 percent fewer T50 units, task completion rose from 100 to 123.5 percent and storage locations increased by 6.1 percent. A double-sided STU mode doubles throughput per aisle, and a cross-aisle STU uses curved rails to move between neighboring aisles.
The HAPS automated picking station combines 3D vision, mobile robots and robot arms. It handles batch and order picking at up to 900 items per hour with accuracy above 99.99 percent, and it can run around the clock. All figures are company-reported.
