Ministry of Islamic Affairs Concludes Quran Competition in Kenya, Honors 12 Winners
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims, concluded Kenya's national Quran competition on Tuesday, honoring 12 winners across its four categories. The event was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Kenya Saad bin Abdullah Alnofaia along with officials and scholars.
The final rounds, held on October 11 and 12, featured 40 contestants who qualified through preliminary rounds conducted across seven Kenyan counties, involving 280 participants. The contestants competed in four categories covering memorization of the entire Holy Quran and 20, 15, and five parts.
The competition is part of the ministry’s overseas Quranic programs, which aim to encourage memorization and proficient recitation of the Holy Quran, nurture Quranic talent, and strengthen younger generations’ connection to the Holy Book. These efforts reflect the Kingdom’s continued commitment to serving the Holy Quran and its people and supporting Islamic institutions worldwide.
