Japanese new age pianist Yuki Kuramoto will share the stage with singer-songwriter Kwak Jin-eon this Christmas.
"Christmas Concert — Yuki Kuramoto and Friends" will be held twice on Dec. 25, at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., at Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul, according to Credia Music & Artists. The following day, Dec. 26, the show moves to Yongin Poeun Art Hall.
"Christmas Concert — Yuki Kuramoto and Friends" began in 2009 and has become a signature year-end seasonal performance. This year's special guest, Kwak Jin-eon, rose to prominence after winning Mnet's audition program "Superstar K6" in 2014. He has contributed to soundtracks for the film "Ode to My Father" and the television dramas "Hospital Playlist," "My Liberation Notes" and "When Life Gives You Tangerines." The concert will feature a special collaboration pairing Kuramoto's piano with Kwak's vocals.
The program is divided into two parts. In the first, Kwak performs a best-of program with the Ditto Orchestra. In the second, Kuramoto joins the orchestra to play his signature pieces, along with Christmas carols and other works suited to the holiday season.
Kim Sung-jin will conduct the Ditto Orchestra. The ensemble has performed not only traditional classical repertoire but also shows across a range of genres, including "Disney in Concert" and the "Harry Potter Film Concert" series. This time it will again present a varied program blending solo piano, vocals and orchestra.
Tickets go on sale on the 13th, beginning with advance sales for paying Club Balcony members at 11 a.m., followed by general sales at 4 p.m. Tickets are available through Club Balcony, Ticketlink, NOL Ticket and the Lotte Concert Hall website. Prices range from 70,000 won to 130,000 won.
