LS Electric Wins $138 Million US Data Center Deal

(Provided by LS Electric) LS Electric has secured a large-scale order worth 185.3 billion won ($138.49 million) from Bloom Energy, a global power company in the United States. LS Electric announced through a public disclosure on Oct. 13 that it signed a contract to supply switchgear and distribution transformers to Bloom Energy. The cumulative order amount secured from Bloom Energy over the approximately one year and six months since April last year has exceeded $500 million (approximately 669 billion won), including this contract. The supply destination is a data center for a big tech company being built in Pennsylvania, United States. The center adopts an on-site power generation method utilizing fuel cells, and LS Electric plans to sequentially deliver 38-kilovolt (kV) high-voltage switchgear and distribution transformers from April to July next year. The core of this project is that the switchgear and distribution transformers are supplied collectively in a package format rather than as single items. The company explained that by providing core power equipment essential for large-scale data center operations as an integrated solution, it has simultaneously proven its technical reliability and process efficiency. LS Electric is also putting effort into establishing a local supply chain in North America. Currently, it has localized the entire process from sales to design, production, and service, using 'LS Electric Utah' in Utah and 'Bastrop Campus' in Texas as its bases. The company plans to further solidify its strategic cooperation with Bloom Energy while continuing aggressive sales activities targeting the North American AI data center market.
