Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan contrasted Moscow's proposal to build a new nuclear power plant in Armenia and the talks about the price of Russian natural gas in the country.
Speaking with reporters, the minister first touched upon the matters of building a new nuclear power plant in Armenia and noted that he will not comment on the words in that regard by Russian foreign ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova—obviously assuming that it is about the statement on the groundlessness of the allegations about the current Armenian nuclear power plant being unsafe—then repeated the well-known information that Armenia is currently at a phase when proposals from various countries and major players are being accepted for the construction of Armenia’s new nuclear plant.
“I cannot say what the selection will be. But it is interesting to see the proposal [of Russia] to build a nuclear power plant and the talks about the price of [Russian natural] gas [in Armenia],” Mirzoyan noted.
