It's not quite crunch time but time is running out for those golfers chasing a top-100 finish in the FedEx Cup Fall series. Only the top 100 (unless otherwise qualified) get their 2027 PGA Tour cards and this week's 2026 Butterfield Bermuda Championship is the latest chance for golfers to work on improving their status.
While many in the 119-man field (it was 120 until Max Greyserman withdrew) chased a trophy or perhaps a high finish and the subsequent payday, several others were playing the game-within-the-game to make the cut.
Chandler Blanchet and Kensei Hirata are the co-leaders at 13 under, with Seamus Powers, Corey Conners and Eric Cole tied for third a shot back.
Friday's 36-hole cut for the low 65 and ties came in at 5 under. Amateur Kihei Akina is T-13 at 9 under and will play another weekend on the PGA Tour. Some notable names who made the weekend on the number include Henrik Norlander, amateur Miles Russell, Kevin Roy, Erik van Rooyen and Brendon Todd.
Then there are those who finished 4 under or worse and now will either a) enjoy some island time or b) book the next flight to the mainland.
Who missed the cut at the 2026 Butterfield Bermuda Championship?
Here's a look at some of the notables who missed the cut in Bermuda.
Taylor Pendrith (4 under)
Scores of 68-70 were not enough to get the Canadian to the weekend.
Alejandro Tosti (4 under)
Tosti recently made news after a controversial caddie change. After opening with a 66, he shot 72 on Friday to miss the cut by one.
Cameron Champ (4 under)
A lot of guys shot some some combination of 68 and 70 and Champ was one of them. His 70-68 week left him one shot short.
Taylor Montgomery (3 under)
Montgomery shot 67 on Thursday and was hanging by thread late in the day Friday. A bogey at the last ended up being the final blow to his chances of making the cut.
Ben James (1 under)
Rising star James was on many people's short list (code for betting card) to contend this week but he shot 70-71 and missed the cut by four shots.
Aaron Baddeley (2 over)
The Australian had a new caddie on the bag this week and things were looking good after a Thursday 69 but a Friday 75 did him in.
Adam Schenk (2 over)
There will be no repeat champion in Bermuda this week. Schenk was a first-time winner a year ago but his first-round 75 damaged his chances of not only going back-to-back but playing the weekend. He shot 69 on Friday but it wasn't nearly enough.
Austin Lemieux (4 over)
With mom and dad, hockey legend Mario Lemieux in the gallery, 30-year-old amateur Austin Lemieux made his PGA Tour debut but shot 72-74 and finished 4 over.
