Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 15 October 2026, held a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Minister for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM) of the Russian Federation, H.E. Anatoly Suprunovsky, in Moscow, on the sidelines of his working visit to Russia. The two sides discussed progress in ASEAN–Russia cooperation on disaster management and explored ways to further strengthen cooperation in line with the Memorandum of Understanding between ASEAN and the Russian Federation on Cooperation in the Field of Disaster Management and the Comprehensive Plan of Action to Implement the ASEAN–Russian Federation Strategic Partnership (2026–2030).
