We'll buy BioWare, ok?
Hope. It's in short supply at the moment. Regardless, I hope that something a Canadian politician's proposed in a post scoring easy likeability points at the expense of EA's recently installed owners comes to pass, no matter how unlikely it is to do so at this point. Rather than being unceremoniuously shuttered, leaving the world staring down the barrel of a future without new games from a storied studio, BioWare should be handed over to its staff with backing from the Canadian government.
Nationalise BioWare, basically. Well, sort of. "The developers at BioWare know how to run the studio," is what Avi Lewis, leader of Canada's New Democratic Party, wrote in a post following the closure. "They know how to make the games we all love. They should be given the first opportunity - and the federal support - to buy it and run it themselves. And if we want to avoid the Mass Effect effect in Canada, we should be keeping private equity out, not welcoming it in."
You can almost hear the horde of suit-wearing money-knowers who've sensed that suggestion's been made and are about to descend from orbit to yell about taxpayers' money being used to help ensure the creation of future adventures starring space blokes who say 'We'll bang, ok?'. I should also point out that since I'm not Canadian, it wouldn't be the country I live in spending some of their cash on helping the Veilguard avoid being veilgone to the depths of the vault where EA keep Burnout and ten million other defunct series people would like to see return.

In all seriousness, I'm not totally sure it'd work out in the long run, but it's something. An alternative to a company erasing a studio from existence because the Saudi Public Investment Fund and Jared Kushner have been allowed to load them up with a ton of debt rather than reaching further into their own pockets.
So, I say screw it. Set up a new position called Minister for BioWare to ensure the devs have what they need to get their heads down that next Mass Effect which reportedly had a trailer leak the other day. Just make sure it's not some right-wing crank, or BioWare might run into some of the same problems it'd been feared their generally very inclusive games might face under Saudi ownership.
