Small businesses looking to equip employees with premium smartphones without paying full retail prices now have another purchasing option: Samsung has expanded its Certified Re-Newed Galaxy lineup to Amazon.com.
The company says 14 refurbished Galaxy smartphones, spanning the Galaxy S24 and S25 families, are now available through Amazon. Prices start at $489 before taxes and fees. Samsung backs each device with a one-year limited manufacturer warranty and says eligible phones can receive additional protection through Samsung Care+.
For small employers, the launch could make it easier to standardize company phones, replace damaged devices or provide high-end mobile hardware to workers who rely on smartphones for sales, scheduling, payments, field service and customer communications.

The lineup gives buyers several ways to balance performance and cost. The Galaxy S24 FE provides a lower-cost entry point, while the S24 and S25 models offer different combinations of storage and features. The Ultra models target users who need more storage or advanced capabilities, although they will likely command higher prices than the standard versions.
For a small business, refurbished equipment can reduce the upfront cost of outfitting a team. A company with five employees, for example, could use Certified Re-Newed phones as dedicated work devices rather than asking employees to use personal phones. That approach can simplify mobile security, employee offboarding and access to business applications.
A refurbished phone can also serve as a backup device. Retailers, contractors and service businesses often depend on mobile connectivity to process customer requests, access inventory systems or accept payments. Keeping a spare phone available may cost less than losing a full day of operations when an employee’s primary device breaks.
The warranty could offer additional reassurance for owners who hesitate to purchase used electronics. However, businesses should read the warranty terms and confirm how repairs, replacements and shipping work before relying on the devices for mission-critical operations. Samsung describes the warranty as a standard limited warranty, which means it may not cover every type of damage or business use.
Samsung also says Certified Re-Newed smartphones qualify for Samsung Care+, which can cover issues such as drops, spills and mechanical breakdowns. The company’s terms state that approved claims may result in a repair or replacement device at Samsung’s discretion. Service fees may apply, and coverage restrictions remain in place.
For screen damage, Samsung says same-day repair may be available for eligible devices in select locations. The company lists a $29 fee per claim for cracked-screen and back-glass repairs, while noting that availability depends on claim approval, parts and technician availability. That distinction matters for businesses that operate outside major service areas or cannot easily spare an employee’s phone for repairs.
Owners should also compare the total cost with new-device offers from carriers, manufacturers and business technology providers. The $489 starting price does not include taxes, fees, accessories or optional protection plans. A new phone purchased through a carrier promotion could cost less upfront, but may involve a service contract, trade-in requirement or other conditions. A refurbished phone purchased outright may provide more flexibility, particularly for businesses that do not want to change wireless providers.
Buyers should confirm whether each Amazon listing matches the company’s requirements. Important checks include the exact Galaxy model, storage capacity, wireless compatibility, warranty terms, return window and seller information. Businesses should also determine whether devices arrive with the accessories employees need and whether the company’s mobile device management or security software supports the selected models.
Data protection deserves attention as well. A business should reset and configure every phone through its own IT or operations process rather than allowing employees to use a device as delivered. Owners should install required security updates, activate screen locks, enable multifactor authentication and remove access promptly when an employee leaves.
The environmental case may also appeal to small companies. Extending a phone’s useful life can keep electronics in circulation longer and reduce demand for new hardware. Still, sustainability benefits do not eliminate the need to assess battery health, software support and expected replacement timing. Samsung’s announcement does not provide detailed battery specifications for each refurbished listing, so buyers should review the individual product page or ask the seller before ordering multiple units.
The full lineup and purchasing information are available through Samsung’s original announcement and Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed store on Amazon. For small businesses, the offering may be most useful as part of a planned device strategy—not simply as a way to find the lowest sticker price.
