The 50-year-old Spanish national is said to have helped himself to the cash between May 2025 and last September.
The unnamed bank carried out an internal probe and began to suspect the maintenance man.
Two machines in Palma’s western district were down by €10,000 in just three months.
The Policia Nacional were called in and studied the withdrawals made across the city’s ATM network that the worker was involved with.
Security cameras within the ATMs recorded him withdrawing significant amounts of money from the units.
The police said that he hid the banknotes inside his pockets or inside a tool box, without attracting suspicion.
Officers detained the suspect on Wednesday morning while he was carrying out maintenance work in a central Palma bank.
He appeared before a judge on Thursday on a charge of theft.
