2027: APC polls show Tinubu leading across states — Yilwatda

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has claimed that the party’s internal opinion polls indicate that President Bola Tinubu is leading across states ahead of the 2027 general election.

Yilwatda made the assertion during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, where he spoke about the ruling party’s preparations for the next presidential election.

According to him, the APC has conducted its own surveys and obtained figures that suggest Tinubu is ahead of his potential opponents.

“We have done fact-finding; we are leading. We have done our polls. We have our own polls that give us the real statistics across the states,” Yilwatda said.

The APC chairman’s remarks come as political parties and opposition groups position themselves for the 2027 elections, with the president expected to seek another term in office.

Yilwatda also expressed confidence in Tinubu’s electoral prospects, responding affirmatively when asked whether the president would win the next election.

However, the poll figures cited by the APC chairman were not provided in the remarks available, and the claim represents the ruling party’s assessment of the political landscape.

The 2027 presidential contest is expected to draw competition from opposition parties seeking to challenge the APC’s hold on power.
