(ANSA) - ROME, 21 OTT - Former Italian premier and former European Central Bank President Mario Draghi has linked the recent rioting by young people in Paris, Milan and other parts of Europe to a frustration about their future prospects.
"I think the most robust explanation is that it's a case of blocked expectations," Draghi said in an interview with Bloomberg when asked about the unrest.
"This youth has a feeling that no one is listening to them "Most people in the world want growth and social justice "In the case of youth, social justice means inter-generational social justice and when you have no growth that becomes very difficult to maintain "That generates anxiety.
"They have the sense that social dynamics are blocked to them.
"They have a sense that they can't easily find a job "They perceive a society in very fast technological transformation and they feel unequipped to deal with that".
