Tottenham scouts intensify Younes Ebnoutalib checks after Frankfurt winner
Tottenham Hotspur’s recruitment team appear to be gathering fresh evidence on Younes Ebnoutalib, after the Eintracht Frankfurt forward produced the decisive moment in a 1-0 Bundesliga win over Cologne. According to TeamTalk, Spurs scouts were present at Deutsche Bank Park and saw the 23-year-old “steal the show” with another influential contribution.
This was a useful evening for Tottenham on more than one level. The trip also allowed staff to monitor Mikey Moore during his loan spell at Cologne, with the young attacker introduced from the bench. Yet the standout development came from the opposite side, where Ebnoutalib again showed why he is gaining traction among clubs weighing up forward options.
Younes Ebnoutalib keeps building transfer momentum
The key detail here is consistency. Ebnoutalib’s goal was described as his “fifth goal in six games”, and that kind of run invariably sharpens attention in Premier League recruitment departments. TEAMtalk adds that Tottenham have been tracking the striker for some time, and this latest visit offered another chance to assess whether his output is matching the wider profile work already carried out.
On the night, he “delivered when it mattered most”, scoring with just over ten minutes remaining to settle a tight game. Reports add that he has made a “remarkable start to the season” and is a player “firmly on their radar”. For Tottenham, those are the sort of markers that justify repeated live checks rather than one-off curiosity.

Bundesliga form gives Spurs plenty to consider
There is growing context around this story too. TEAMtalk states that “a host of clubs are carrying out work on Ebnoutalib”, with Spurs among those following him “particularly closely”. That points to a market situation that could move quickly if his level continues. His “form, age and ability to make a decisive impact in the Bundesliga” are clearly central to the interest.
One line in the report underlines how highly he is regarded, claiming he has “attracted growing attention from clubs across Europe”. If accurate, Tottenham are in an information-gathering phase where timing matters. The next stage would rest on internal priorities, budget and the level of rival competition.
Mikey Moore visit adds extra value to scouting trip
From a Spurs perspective, the dual-purpose nature of the trip is notable. Moore “could not prevent his side from suffering defeat”, but his development remains relevant to the club’s broader attacking planning. Meanwhile, Ebnoutalib’s “match-winning contribution against Cologne provided another reminder of why Spurs have been monitoring him”.
For now, the message is straightforward. Tottenham are watching, the player is producing, and the market around him is becoming more active.
Our View
As a Tottenham supporter, this feels like the sort of report you want to hear more often. Not because it guarantees anything, because it absolutely does not, but because it suggests the club are being proactive and looking at players in strong leagues before the whole market goes wild. Younes Ebnoutalib sounds like a name worth remembering if he is really on this kind of scoring run.
The most encouraging part is that the scouting mission had substance. Spurs were there, he scored, and he decided the match. You cannot ask for a clearer live audition than that. If a striker has power, timing and composure, and is already proving decisive in the Bundesliga, that is usually a strong starting point for Premier League interest.
There is also a wider Tottenham angle here. The squad has needed more conviction in forward planning for a while. If the club think Ebnoutalib can develop into a genuine option, then this is exactly when groundwork should be happening. Not after another five goals, and not after three more clubs jump in front.
Mikey Moore being watched at the same time is another positive. Supporters want the academy pathway protected, but they also want smart competition added. If Spurs can get both decisions right, one on Moore’s progress and one on a possible striker target, then this could prove a very useful trip indeed.
