PKR 100,000 is a line many buyers hesitate to cross. Spend less and you expect compromises, spend more and you expect everything. The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G, launched in Pakistan on October 15 at PKR 99,999, sits just under that line, and TECNO’s pitch is that it asks for no compromises: a 5G processor, an 8000mAh battery and what it calls the slimmest design among phones with a battery that size.
Here is what the phone offers, in the order most buyers care about, and what to weigh before you decide.
Performance and 5G: fast now, fast later
The phone runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G processor, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. At this price, the question is less how fast it is on day one and more whether it stays that way. TECNO says it holds 90 minutes of smooth Free Fire at 60fps, helped by Ice Cooling 3.0, and that it is TÜV Rheinland certified to stay lag-free for six years. The software promise backs that up, with 2 Android version updates and 3 years of security patches.
Battery: the reason to look twice
Battery is where the POVA Curve 2 5G aims hardest. Its 8000mAh cell is meant to take you two days between charges, with more than 15 days of standby, according to TECNO. When you do need a charger, 45W fast charging takes it from empty to full in 82 minutes, and 10W reverse charging lets it power other devices.
The part buyers tend to overlook is longevity. TECNO says the battery is built for 2,000 cycles, which it describes as six years of safe use, so it shouldn’t need replacing in the time you’re likely to own the phone.
Design: the slimmest 8000mAh phone
At 7.42mm and 195g, TECNO says the POVA Curve 2 5G is the slimmest phone among those with an 8000mAh battery. That matters because a big battery usually means a bulky phone, and this one is meant to slip into a pocket and sit comfortably in the hand.
The look is inspired by interstellar spaceships, with bold, flowing lines and a minimalist finish, in Melting Silver, Mystic Purple or Storm Titanium. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and SGS-certified 1.5m drop resistance cover everyday knocks.
Display: smooth, bright and responsive
The 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display runs at 144Hz, so scrolling and games stay smooth, and peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits keeps it readable outdoors. A 2160Hz touch sampling rate keeps touch responsive, and anti-mistouch means wet or oily hands shouldn’t cost you a tap.
The camera and extras
The camera isn’t the headline here. It’s a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 13MP front camera, backed by AI tools including AI Eraser 2.0 and AI Flare Remover. The Ella voice assistant adds call translation and WhatsApp summaries, and FreeLink 2.0 keeps calls and messages going between phones within 1.5km without network coverage. If photography is your top priority, compare samples before you buy.
Price and who it suits
The POVA Curve 2 5G is available across Pakistan in 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM at PKR 99,999. It suits people who use their phone hard and are tired of chasing a charger: gamers, heavy multitaskers and anyone whose day runs longer than a typical battery.
