Barcelona came from behind to thrash Galatasaray 4-1 in their UEFA Champions League clash on Tuesday night.
The Spanish giants recovered from an early setback to secure an emphatic victory at the RAMS Park in Istanbul, extending their winning start to the competition.
Galatasaray took the lead in the 28th minute through Alexey Batrakov, whose effort from outside the penalty area took a deflection before beating Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia.
The Turkish side thought they had doubled their advantage six minutes later, but their goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.
Barcelona capitalised on the reprieve, with Joao Cancelo restoring parity in the 43rd minute after connecting with a pass from Dani Olmo.
The visitors returned from the break with renewed determination and took the lead for the first time in the 50th minute when Fermin Lopez headed home a cross from Lamine Yamal.
Barcelona extended their advantage three minutes later through Anthony Gordon, who finished off another attacking move involving Yamal to make it 3-1.
The visitors continued to dominate proceedings, with substitute Karim Adeyemi scoring the fourth goal in the 66th minute to complete an impressive comeback.
Despite their promising start, Galatasaray struggled to contain Barcelona’s attacking threat in the second half and were unable to mount a comeback of their own.
The victory gives Barcelona six points from their opening two matches in the Champions League league phase, while Galatasaray remain without a point after suffering defeats in their first two games.
Barcelona will now look to maintain their impressive form as they continue their European campaign under manager Hansi Flick.
