KUANTAN: Pakatan Harapan has finalised seat allocations among its component parties for the Melaka state election, with no concrete developments regarding potential political cooperation with other parties.
PKR secretary-general Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said PH will contest the state election under its own banner.
"PH will contest about 20 seats in Melaka, which is enough to form a simple majority. Seat negotiations among PKR, DAP, and Amanah have been completed," she said after attending the closing of the retail access programme here today.
"To date, there is nothing concrete on political cooperation with other parties. Seat allocations among PH component parties have been finalised, and we will announce our full candidates lineup in Melaka on Oct 24."
Fuziah said PKR will contest nine seats and has prepared its election machinery accordingly.
She added that PH chairman and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will officially announce the full candidate list on Oct 24.
The Election Commission has set Nov 14 as polling day for the Melaka election, with early voting on Nov 10 and nomination day on Oct 31.
Melaka has 28 state seats, with a simple majority requiring at least 15 seats and a two-thirds majority 19 seats.
