Agreements linked to Cyprus’ offshore Aphrodite gas field are expected to be signed this week at an energy conference in Alexandria, Egypt, according to Egypt Oil & Gas.
The deals are set to involve Chevron, Egypt’s state gas company EGAS and the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources during the Mediterranean Offshore Conference and Exhibition, which runs from Tuesday to Thursday.
Three agreements are anticipated: one on the project’s tax and financial framework, another setting terms for buying and selling the gas, and a third governing its transportation.
The planned route involves a 280-kilometer undersea pipeline from Aphrodite to Egypt, where the gas would be processed. The arrangements cover the commercial steps needed to move the offshore resource toward export.
