There’s nothing quite like a trip to Aldi, or, more specifically, a trip to the famous middle aisle. You could find anything from an at-home Pilates reformer to a Le Creuset alternative. Or, if you’re lucky, you might just stumble across Aldi’s newest offering: a budget dehumidifier.
If you’re yet to be initiated into the world of dehumidifiers, let me bring you up to speed. Living in cramped quarters throughout the winter as we try to keep warm can lead to excess condensation – and in turn, damp and mould. Yes, even our cosiness must come at a cost.
Plus, in this cost of living crisis, winter and autumn bring about a trade-off between using oh-so-expensive central heating or accepting the damp that comes with drying laundry inside or having hot showers.
To combat the moisture that comes with both, Aldi’s dehumidifier will tackle the muggy climate of your bathroom or laundry-drying area, thereby minimising the risks of damp and mould throughout your home – all for less than £45.

Aldi dehumidifier
Aldi’s bargain dehumidifier is designed to improve airflow, drawing excess moisture from the home to tackle condensation. It will help keep damp at bay, while also speeding up indoor laundry drying times – simply place it by your clothes horse.
The dehumidifier is part of Aldi’s ‘Heat Your Home & Keep Warm in Winter’ range, which also includes a sleek, premium bladeless heater (£49.99) and a ceramic tower heater (£19.99). However, as always with Aldi, these are in-store-only items.
Should you be looking for an online alternative purchase, my closest model match goes to the Russell Hobbs lightweight dehumidifier, in all its compact glory.
