Sunday Night Football this week marks Kenneth Walker III’s return to Seattle as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Seahawks.
There are no two ways about it, the Seahawks have been left to rue their inability to retain Walker’s services following their Super Bowl triumph earlier in the year. The running back did not agree a new deal with general manager John Schneider and almost-instantly joined the Chiefs in free agency.
Seattle’s running game has been virtually non-existent this year with Jadarian Price on the injured reserve list and Zach Charbonnet still yet to return to the field following his ACL tear last season. Missing Walker has been a huge blow.
Seeing what Walker has been able to produce for the Chiefs has only rubbed salt in the wounds in the Pacific Northwest. That was evident at the weekend as one Seahawks fan shared a message to Walker during the Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Travis Kelce stunned by Seahawks fan’s message to Kenneth Walker
It was another 100+ rushing yards game for Walker at the weekend as he racked up 128 yards and two touchdowns for the Chiefs. Jokingly, one Seahawks fan attended the game at Arrowhead and brought a sign saying, ‘Come back home, K9!!! Plz!!!’
“I did not know this. No way. That’s great. No way! Seattle is a place I don’t know if I’ve won in Seattle. It is a tough place to play, man. You go up there to that Northwest with those 12s flying around, man, and especially this year’s team. They always have a good defence: this team is. They got a little bit of bully ball mentality. It’s a tough team. They fly around, kind of in your face all the time, especially on the defensive side,” Kelce said on the New Heights podcast.

Obviously, Cooper Kupp, our guy, friend of the show. They’re 3-3, the defending champs, 3-3. They’re going to f****** be p*****. If you’re not already, they’re going to come out, and we’re going to have probably our biggest challenge already to date.”
Defensively, the Seahawks have been equally as impressive as they were last season. The issues have been self-inflicted with the turnovers on the offensive side of the ball costing them considerably. This is certainly going to be a test for both sides.
However, Walker must be relishing the opportunity to prove his former employers wrong for failing to keep him in Seattle earlier in the year. Walker’s last game at Lumen Field was the NFC Championship game against the Los Angeles Rams where he racked up 62 yards and a touchdown.
Walker has recorded over 100 yards rushing in four of his five games this season and has not returned a total lower than 70 yards. Anything lower than this would certainly come as a disappointment to the back.
