By Zoila Palma: Today, former Leader of the Opposition Shyne Barrow says that 2 years ago on October 20, the UDP was stolen.
“What Tracy Panton, Patrick Faber, John Saldivar and others did on October 20th, 2024 was one of the worst moments in our Democracy.
The Belize Constitution and the UDP Constitution trumps all. Personalities don’t matter. No matter how much you loathe the duly elected Leader of the UDP you don’t attempt an overthrow,” Barrow said.
Barrow alleges that “Tracy, Faber, Saldivar et al decided to lie, connive, and defraud to seize power they set in motion a train of events that are irreversible. The same people that thief Budna watched Tracy and her alliance of corruption steal the UDP on October 20, 2024.”
In addition, Barrow says that if they hadn’t done that, the UDP would have increased their seats in the House of Representatives by at least double in 2025 General Elections.
“There has been no remorse, no amends, just continued hubris and disregard for the UDP Constitution and the laws of Belize,” he said.
He further said that there has still been no reform of the UDP Constitution, zero reform to the public policy agenda of the UDP.
