President Bola Tinubu has blamed opposition parties for the hunger and poverty they accuse his administration of failing to address, insisting that his government is working to improve Nigerians’ economic conditions.
Tinubu spoke on Saturday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign flag-off rally in Kaduna, where he solicited support for his re-election bid in 2027.
Tinubu said; “I hear my opponents talking about hunger and poverty. Who created it? They did. They created hunger. They created poverty. We are trying to eradicate it.”

He urged Nigerians to support his administration’s policies, citing its commitment to regular salary payments, economic recovery and the creation of opportunities for citizens.
The President also urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate in the forthcoming election.
“Do you have your PVC? Do you have your PVC? Show your hands,” he asked the crowd.
Tinubu said his administration was working towards prosperity, growth and economic recovery, while accusing opposition parties of appealing to hatred rather than presenting credible alternatives.
He called on APC supporters to vote for the party’s candidates at all levels, including the presidency, governorships, the National Assembly and state Houses of Assembly.
The President also commended APC governors for their development initiatives, claiming that they had maintained regular salary payments in their respective states.
He urged party supporters to remain vigilant against misinformation and sustain their support for his administration, promising a better future for Nigerians.
