Mzansi Magic has set the internet buzzing with the announcement of a new family drama, Inyosi, and fans are already counting down the days. The teaser dropped on 21 October 2026, revealing a polished, cinematically lit promo featuring five formally dressed cast members, before cutting to a striking gold bee-and-jungle-themed title card that simply read "Inyosi — Coming Soon."
The 13-part drama centres on Mabongi Mageza-Ngcobo, a widow, successful businesswoman, and CEO of Ekhaya Events and Catering. Portrayed by Dawn Thandeka King, best known for her acclaimed role in Shaka iLembe, Mabongi is a devoted mother whose quiet authority is tested when questions about who will one day run her company begin to surface. Her three children, sensing an opening, start jostling to prove they deserve the top seat.
Inyosi's full cast revealed
Kwanele Mkhize, also a Shaka iLembe alumnus, plays Mabongi's son Nsika. Toka Mtabane from Youngins steps into the role of Kwanele, while Nandipa Khubone, familiar to viewers from Gomora, portrays the youngest, Samukelo. Rounding out the ensemble are Thembsie Matu and Kwenzo Ngcobo, with Kethukuthula Jele making a notable television debut as part of the core cast.
Mzansi Magic described the show as offering "a layered portrait of power and belonging, rooted in cultural specificity and emotional truth" — a promise that the promo's dramatic tone seems very willing to back up. Season 1 of Inyosi premieres on Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161, on Monday, 2 November at 8 pm.
